Keep KPP Open: New Board Members REQUIRED for 2027

KPP NEEDS YOUR HELP

Most KPP Board of Directors positions will become vacant when this season ends, and it is vital that new volunteers join to take over.  Without new board members running the organization, KPP will not be able to open next year.

Kings Point Recreation Club Inc is a 100% volunteers run 501(c)(3) public charity, and has a long tradition of the community running this amazing nonprofit since it opened in 1964. KPP needs a wide variety of skills, ideas (and love for the community) to support the mission and goals of our nonprofit organization.

2027 STATUS

To be very transparent: Without new board members stepping forward, the pool will not open next summer.

This isn’t meant to scare anyone into volunteering. Our current board is simply stretched too thin and has extended long past our 2-year term obligation. It is important that the next-generation of volunteers join the board.

THE SITUATION

Most board members are stepping down at the end of this season

The current board has been in place since early 2022, and aside from a few changes, the same small group of neighbors has volunteered their time to keep Kings Point Pool running. Board positions are typically a 2-year term, but we have stayed longer in the absence of others taking over... however we are unable to continue for 2027. We've been on the board because we love this community, this pool, and what it means to the families who spend their summers here.

Many of us have been covering multiple roles , and despite our best efforts, things are getting missed because there simply aren’t enough hands anymore. We’ve accomplished a lot together, including achieving our 501(c)(3) charitable status, gaining partial exemption for property taxes, making multiple improvements to the property/plumbing/clubhouse, hosting countless community events, and completing multiple years in a row with positive financial results.

It is time for new board members to take over! Great things are in store for KPP if you join the board and carry on the legacy of board members from the last 6 decades!

TAKE ACTION TODAY

  1. Review the board positions below and consider how you can support KPP for 2027

  2. Email at kingspointpoolreccenter@gmail.com to volunteer or with questions.

  3. Attend the next board meeting on Sept 20, 2026 @4pm

    1. At this meeting, we will determine if KPP can open for 2027 based on having a board in place to run the organization.

Additionally, We’ll have a board and volunteer sign-up at our Labor Day event. You don’t need experience, and you won’t be left to figure it out alone. Current board members will help transition roles, share what we know and support the people who step forward.

We love this pool. We’re proud of what this community has built, and we want to see it continue for many years to come.
