EXCITING NEWS! 501(c)(3) Charitable Organization Status Achieved for KPP!

We are beyond thrilled to announce to the community exciting news about KPP! 

Kings Point Recreation Club Inc. (DBA Kings Point Pool) has been granted 501(c)(3) charitable organization status by the IRS.  No doubt this is an important milestone in our journey to keep KPP open!  Read to learn what this means for our awesome little nonprofit.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

Our goal has been to create a long-term solution that helps us keep KPP open for this and future generations. For over 60 years, KPP families and neighbors have created a strong, connected community - and we’re honored to carry that tradition forward!  Although we have been a registered Colorado nonprofit since 1978, achieving a federal 501(c)(3) charitable status helps us to create a more robust framework that supports a nonprofit’s longevity.  

EXEMPTIONS, DISCOUNTS, AND OPPORTUNITIES

As a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, KPP is exempt from federal corporate income tax.  We also now may be eligible for additional state-level exemptions (which we will apply for), and access to other discounts on various products and services.  We are already working to apply again for additional property tax exemptions from the State of Colorado.

Also, our hope is that we can now attract greater community support such as business partnerships and increased volunteerism and donations.

FREE WEEKEND WORKOUTS OPEN TO EVERYONE!

As you may know, we’ve been on a journey since 2022 to evolve KPP in a way that would make us qualify to become a public charity.  This evolution has included community votes to divest, updates to the business structure and financial standards, offering more free activities open to all such as weekly workouts and community events, and much much more.  All of the blood, sweat, and tears is paying off!  

The journey isn’t over, but this is a huge milestone as we work to save KPP.  THANK YOU!
